2025 IRS 1099 Filing in Dynamics 365 Business Central

With the latest Dynamics 365 Business Central updates, organizations can configure IRS reporting periods directly in the system. Vendors can be assigned to the correct 1099 forms and box numbers. Finance teams can generate 1099 documents and submit them electronically to the IRS without leaving Business Central.

Business Central also supports emailing 1099 copies to vendors. It tracks vendor consent for electronic delivery. The system protects sensitive TIN data and allows users to drill into source transactions for audit visibility.

Unlike prior versions, Business Central no longer requires preprinted IRS forms. External file uploads are no longer needed for electronic filing. Finance teams can now manage the entire 1099 lifecycle in one centralized process—from setup through submission.

Some bulk printing and emailing limitations remain in the current release. Microsoft has confirmed these will be addressed in future updates.
